Dear AVANCE parents and program participants,
My thoughts and prayers go out to all those in the path of yesterday’s storm—the Houston area’s most destructive tornado since November 1992. The tornado affected several regions of our city, Pasadena receiving the most damage.
Due to the storm recovery activities and the closure of Pasadena ISD, AVANCE Houston Parent-Child Education Program (PCEP) and EHS Tegeler and Kruse centers will remain closed tomorrow, Thursday, January 26, 2023.
I want to remind you to be careful and prepare as best as possible to remain safe and seek shelter if needed. Tuesday’s storm left thousands of Pasadena, TX residents with a power outage.
An AVANCE Houston emergency response team has been assigned and will follow up with staff and families at our Pasadena locations.
We are compiling a list of resources for our families in need and will share them with you soon via Brightwheel, our website, and social media channels.
If you or your family have been affected by yesterday’s tornado, please don’t hesitate to contact Rondalyn Davis at rdavis@AvanceHouston.org.
Please know that AVANCE’s top priority is the safety of our staff and children.
We are all in this together; stay well, and be safe!
Sincerely,
Luz Flores
Executive Director
