WOYC a week dedicated to fun learning and raising awareness about early childhood education

The Week of the Young Child (WOYC) is an exciting and joyful week that celebrates early learning, young children, their teachers, families, and communities. We are proud to announce that it was a huge success once again, with children from all of our programs enthusiastically participating in engaging and interactive learning activities throughout the entire week, from April 6th to April 12th, 2024.

This special week is organized by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). During this celebration, people all across the US come together to raise awareness about the importance of early childhood education and the incredible impact it has on our little ones.

Parents, teachers, and classmates alike all enjoyed the opportunity to spend quality learning time together, forging strong bonds that will last a lifetime. At AVANCE, we deeply value the importance of early childhood programs and are incredibly grateful for the unwavering dedication and tireless efforts of our staff, including center administrators and educators, who work tirelessly every day to support the healthy development and growth of our children as well as the communities we serve.

Throughout the week, we had various engaging activities for children to celebrate their learning, including:

  • On Music Monday, children learned how to play instruments and dance.
  • Tasty Tuesday involved cooking activities and tasting parties.
  • Work Together Wednesday had teachers creating team-building activities such as group vision boards.
  • Artsy Thursday gave children the opportunity to display their artwork for others to see. This activity promotes self-confidence, creativity, and appreciation for others’ art.
  • Family Friday was a day where families were invited to a game day to play games with their children and other families, promoting social interaction and family bonding.
