Volunteers renovated the garden at Acres Homes Head Start Center

Women from KIANI Realty, a company that provides top-tier luxury real estate services, recently visited our Acres Homes Head Start center to refurbish the community garden that families share.

This garden is integral to our ongoing efforts to promote food security and improve families’ health at AVANCE. We are profoundly grateful to KIANI Realty volunteers for their valuable contribution towards creating a healthy, ethical, and sustainable food source for our children and parents.

Acres Homes is a neighborhood classified as a food desert, where residents have limited access to healthy and nutritious food. The area has only two grocery stores and a few convenience stores. However, we are proud to say that with the help of dedicated volunteers and community partners, we are working towards improving the quality of life and promoting healthier futures for our Acres Homes Head Start families. By encouraging them to pick their own fruits and vegetables, we provide access to fresh produce and create bonding experiences between parents and children.
