RSM Chooses AVANCE-Houston as Charity Partner for The Power of Love Campaign

AVANCE-Houston was honored to be selected as the charity of choice for RSM’s Power of Love Campaign, an employee-led fundraising initiative that supports organizations making a meaningful impact in the community. The campaign will conclude in September, with proceeds benefiting AVANCE-Houston’s core programs and helping strengthen educational opportunities for children and families.

As part of their commitment to service, AVANCE-Houston staff visited RSM’s offices, where 60 employees volunteered a total of 136.73 hours preparing materials for educational toy-making kits used throughout AVANCE-Houston programs. Working together, volunteers cut and organized 1,215 individual pieces that will be assembled into a variety of hands-on learning tools.

The project included preparing cardstock materials for parents to create two educational books, fabric for the Happy/Sad Pillow Face, fabric pieces for the Rag Doll, and materials for the Classification Box, along with several other learning activities designed to support early childhood development. These educational toys do more than foster learning; they encourage meaningful communication, interaction, and bonding between parents and children while reinforcing key developmental skills.
