Kristie L. Mireles

Kristie L. Mireles is the Sr. Director II of Early Head Start and Head Start. She began her career with AVANCE-Houston in 1999 as a home visitor. She has worked her way into leadership throughout her 23 years with the organization, taking the Early Head Start, Head Start, and the Parent-Child Education programs to new heights.

 

Kristie works consistently to promote learning and continuing education; she has served as a Federal Reviewer and recently completed the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) Program Management and Fiscal Operations Fellowship Program. She has extensive knowledge in the administration of center operations, program management and community engagement. She understands the importance of maintaining an all-inclusive, safe, and nurturing learning environment for children ages birth to five, pregnant women, families, and staff.

 

Kristie is a first-generation graduate and alumni of Kappa Delta Chi Sorority Inc. (Zeta Chapter/Fall ’97 Theta Class). She holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Houston and two Master’s – one in Education Administration and Supervision from the University of Houston and one in Early Childhood Education from the University of Houston Clear Lake.

 

The oldest of four, Kristie was born and raised in Houston’s East End/Denver Harbor area. She is the proud mother of Andres Antonio and enjoys spending quality time with her family, cooking, volunteering, and helping others.
