At AVANCE-Houston, we believe strong communities are built through meaningful partnerships. One such partner is TechnipFMC, whose commitment to service continues to make a lasting impact on the families we serve. Recently, members of TechnipFMC’s PODER Employee Resource Group (ERG) returned to our Mangum Early Head Start/Head Start Center—demonstrating once again their dedication as advocates and hands-on volunteers for AVANCE.
This visit was especially meaningful, as it is not the first time the PODER ERG has volunteered with AVANCE-Houston. Over time, this group has become a valued and trusted partner, consistently supporting our mission through both service and advocacy.
During their service day, volunteers transformed our playground by painting the bike path and surrounding areas, creating a bright, inviting space that encourages physical activity and outdoor learning. The team also revitalized the garden, planting seeds to help children learn about nature and growth, and cleaned and repaired the tarp, improving the safety and overall appearance of the outdoor environment.
In addition to donating their time, the TechnipFMC PODER ERG went above and beyond by donating all materials, including paint and seeds, and bringing their own equipment to ensure the project was completed efficiently and thoughtfully.
We are grateful to TechnipFMC and PODER ERG for their continued partnership and belief in the power of early childhood education and family support. Their generosity helps AVANCE-Houston create safe, welcoming, and inspiring spaces where children and families can thrive.
