Comcast Invests in Digital Literacy: $20K Grant Powers AVANCE-Houston Adult Education Program

AVANCE-Houston proudly announces that Comcast has awarded a $20,000 grant to support our Adult Education Program, a vital initiative that empowers parents and caregivers through education, workforce readiness, and digital literacy training.

This grant reflects Comcast’s ongoing partnership with AVANCE-Houston, reinforcing a shared commitment to expanding technology access and creating pathways to success for families.

The funding will enhance Igniting Pathways, a series of technology workshops designed to help adult learners build essential computer skills and thrive in today’s digital economy. Through these workshops, participants have learned:

• Microsoft Office programs – Word, Excel, and PowerPoint for professional success
• Financial Education & Personal Finance – Tools for budgeting and money management
• Keyboarding Skills – Improving typing speed and accuracy for workplace efficiency

By combining technology training with practical life skills, AVANCE-Houston ensures that families gain the confidence and knowledge needed to succeed in education, careers, and everyday life.
