Building Credit, Building Futures
AVANCE-Houston closed out the year with an inspiring Chase Financial Literacy Workshop focused on Building Credit—and what an incredible way to wrap up 2025!
AVANCE-Houston closed out the year with an inspiring Chase Financial Literacy Workshop focused on Building Credit—and what an incredible way to wrap up 2025!
A special thank you to Melissa Vela, VP and Houston Community Manager at Chase, for leading such an engaging and insightful session. Melissa connected beautifully with our current AVANCE participants and members of the AHAA Initiative (AVANCE Houston Alumni Ambassadors), making financial education practical, relatable, and empowering for everyone in the room.
With 33 participants in attendance, the workshop covered everything from understanding credit scores to smart strategies for building a strong financial foundation. The conversation was impactful, inspiring, and full of actionable tips to help families take control of their financial futures.
Although this was our final financial literacy workshop of the year, we’re excited to announce that three more workshops are coming in January, February, and March—continuing our commitment to financial empowerment in 2026.
