Dear AVANCE-Houston friends and supporters,

AVANCE has been transforming lives for 48 years, and we have proudly been in Houston for 33 years.  Over the years the organization has evolved in many ways such as the expansion of programming and locations across Texas, and even rebranding as necessary.

In alignment with our National office, we are excited to announce that all AVANCE chapters are joining together for a rebrand that supports the development of our organizational culture and community development needs; while remaining true to our roots.

Under the leadership of our CEO Dr. Teresa Granillo, the mission, vision, and logo have been updated.

``We have been in service since 1973, and many things have changed; but one thing remains the same; our commitment to parents and children and the communities in which we serve. We take a strength-based approach and we meet our families where they are. We provide parents with the resources and support to take their role as their children’s first and most important teachers. We have a unique approach and we make an impact that changes lives, and we want our mission to reflect that.`` - Dr. Granillo.

New Mission Statement

“To create pathways to economic mobility for families through high quality, culturally responsive, two-generation programming that ensures school-readiness for young children and opportunities for parents to build social and economic capital.”

New Vision Statement

We envision a world where all children and families have equitable access to resources and opportunities to reach their fullest potential, transforming the communities in which we live.

On our new updated logo has the Unlocking America’s Potential has been removed.

``We look forward to embracing growth opportunities and implementing new strategies aligned with our strengthened mission and vision, in order to better serve our community. I am proud of our accomplishments, and we are fully committed to continuing working hard to provide the highest quality services our parents and children deserve.`` – Luz Flores, AVANCE-Houston, Executive Director
