AVANCE-Houston wins the Award of Excellence by HMBA

The video AVANCE-Houston Learns All About Texas keeps on giving. First, it was awarded the top place at the Houston Rodeo for the Go Tejano Day. The Houston Business Marketing Association has now selected it as the winner in the non-profit category / single non-profit effort as part of their Lantern Awards 2023.

The video was filmed at the Mangum Education Center, where children from our Head Start classrooms learned about Texas culture, food, symbols, and the regional “way of speaking.”

AVANCE-Houston’s Executive Director Luz Flores, Board Chair Dr. Nicole McZeal Walters, Board Treasurer Keith Argueta, the marketing team, and teaching staff attended the 35th Annual Lantern Awards Gala Exhibition & Awards Dinner on November 16th at The Ballroom at Bayou Place. The event acknowledged the exceptional accomplishments of both for-profit and non-profit organizations in Houston.

At the event, the AVANCE-Houston marketing team was awarded the prestigious Award of Excellence for their exceptional “services performed or produced for a non-profit organization communicating to a business audience.”

AVANCE-Houston’s commitment to the community is exemplified through this award. The children receive a full-circle education through the organization, and the marketing and communications team has done a great job branding the organization and its programs. This award is a proud representation of their creativity.
