Letter from the Center Administrator
WELCOME to Golden Forest Head Start!
My name is Martha Gutierrez , Center Administrator. My staff and I would like to extend a warm WELCOME to all the children and families we will serve this program year.
For the past seven years, Golden Forest has provided an educational environment with qualified, experienced teachers and support staff for our students and their families while embracing cultural and ethnic diversities. These children benefit from receiving a strong foundation in academics, and the development of social/emotional and motor skills. In addition, the families have the opportunity to participate in their child’s learning through the weekly family activity packets, monthly parent meetings, and volunteer opportunities.
Golden Forest families have access to adult education classes, such as GED, ESL, Computer, Parenting Education, Fatherhood and Healthy Relationship. To meet the special needs of a child or the family, our health, nutrition, intervention and social services collaborate to provide guidance and resources. Research shows that children have more success in school and life when they have the support of caring adults and good role models. Golden Forest joins parents/families to form a solid “TEAM” and together, we plant the early “Seeds of Success.” In the words of Jose Villarreal, AVANCE‘s Executive Director, “Children have Aspirations, AVANCE provides the Inspiration.”
At Golden Forest, every day has the potential to be “great” because each child has “great” potential.
Once again, welcome!
