Over 45 Parents Made the Parent Summit an Outstanding Success

Our annual Parent Summit took place on December 16th at our Dacoma location. This year’s theme “Walking in a Winter Wonderland of Learning” brought over 45 parents ready and eager to take home all the tools need it to help their child succeed.

The Summit is coordinated through an ongoing effort of our Education Department, whose goal in facilitating this summit is to informed and provide behavioral support, conscious discipline, and educational resources to all parents in attendance.

At the summit, many of the informative sessions emphasized the importance of parental involvement and provided strategies for positive early social emotional development. Additionally, parents were exposed to “Make and Take,” a workshop led by the Parent-Child Education Program. During this session, participants learned how to make educational toys out of recyclable materials in order to enhance their child’s cognitive, emotional, social and language skills.

Throughout the summit, which lasted nearly five hours, parents were given various opportunities to delve into learning sessions, interact with other parents, and asked questions all while their children were able to immerse themselves in fun learning activities.

Parents in attendance were treated to lunch and entered into several giveaways including tablets, educational baskets, and strollers.

Special thanks to everyone who helped and contributed to making this summit a fabulous success: Chick-Fil-A, Good + Foundation, Rhonda Richardson, Creative Consultant, and Small Elite Enterprise.
