AVANCE'S BLOOD DRIVE
On Friday, June 6, AVANCE-Houston
was proud to host a blood drive for
M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. Over 30
participants supported the effort to
provide much needed blood for cancer
patients being treated at MD
Anderson in the Texas Medical
Center. Each participant who gives
blood provides a return rate of
saving three people’s lives.
AVANCE-Houston feels fortunate to be
involved in the community and help
our city become strong and healthy.

efforts to make Houston strong and

The
Houston Department of Health and
Human Services, awarded a well
deserved certificate of achievement
to our Hardy Head Start Center, for
their collaborative effort of
several of our staff members
including, Melinda Ortega, Center
Administrator, Alicia Mendoza,
Health Tech, and Luis Ramirez and
Jessica Lavendar, Family Development
Workers, but mainly the appreciation
goes to our wonderful parents for
