The AVANCE Programs Graduation 2009 By Hector Rodríguez
The Parent and Child Education Program on
June 6th marked the culmination of hard work,
commitment, and perseverance. AVANCE’s Parent and Child
Education Program represents the foundation core of
AVANCE, because this is where our parents learn how to
meet the early learning needs of their children.
Through its programs, AVANCE embraces its
families and provides the parents with powerful
life-changing tools ranging from support to educational
opportunities, so that they can help build a brighter
future for their children and for themselves.
During the preparations for the grand
event, the committed AVANCE staff demonstrated a
steadfast team effort in ensuring that the parents were
treated to an enjoyable celebration time. The graduates
and special guests expressed their appreciation for all
the thought and work invested in the success of the
celebration.
At the end of the evening and after
enjoying the rich exhibition of cultural heritages
expressed through art, and regional and ancient dances,
one of the parents said:
“Today we have felt our spirits
invigorated, we have just been reminded of where we come
from culturally, and of the traditional values so deeply
rooted into our souls. Regardless of our countries of
origin, this is the type of celebration that makes one
feel truly valued, thank you…”
Statements like these, so genuine and
straight from the heart, are the kind of messages that
bring a true meaning to our efforts and make us feel
that we are on the right track.
