AVANCE McALLEN JOB FAIR
AVANCE & South Texas
College (STC) hosted a successful Job Fair
Over 200 job seekers showed up at McAllen’s
STC’s Technology Center. Many qualified
individuals had an opportunity to meet face to
face with employers needing to fill all levels
of job vacancies. In addition to AVANCE’s Rio
Grande Valley (RGV), Houston, San Antonio and
Corpus Christi chapters, other community
agencies also participated in this event.

JOB FAIR FOR NON-PROFIT
PROFESSIONALS
WAS A GREAT SUCCESS!
The
Job Fair for nonprofit professionals hosted by
AVANCE & SER Jobs for Progress was a success!
More than 30 nonprofits looking to fill a total
of 300 professional job openings attended this
fair held at the United Way on Friday November 6
2009. Nearly 400 job seekers showed up with
resumes in hand and met with employers.
The goal of giving job seekers the opportunity
to meet face to face and interview with
employers was accomplished. The agencies will
contact the most qualified individuals.
AVANCE is looking to
fill approximately 100+ positions within the
next 6 months, some positions will be available
in McAllen and Del Rio, Texas. Many of these
positions are funded by the American Recovery &
Reinvestment Act (ARRA).
