500 AVANCE Families Received Meal-Kits to Celebrate the Thanksgiving Holiday

Five hundred AVANCE families in need enjoyed a classic Thanksgiving dinner, courtesy of United Way of Greater Houston and Rockwell Automation, a fortune 500 company headquartered in Milwaukee, WI.

During the Rockwell Automation Fair Event, held on November 14, in our city, Automation personnel joined forces with United Way to assemble 8,000 Thanksgiving meal boxes containing all of the ingredients to make a classic holiday dinner.

Together, the two organizations helped to distribute meal kits to residents immediately following the conclusion of the Automation Fair event through various United Way affiliate agencies and partners, in which AVANCE was one of the beneficiaries.

These dinner boxes are part of the Automation’s ongoing efforts to support hurricane Harvey recovery, and build on its commitment to Houston.

The meal kits had everything needed for a holiday dinner, including gravy, cranberry sauce, stuffing, and can vegetables, a $15.00 HEB gift card, and activity books for children.

Huge thanks to United Way of Greater Houston and Rockwell Automation for alleviating one less stress to our AVANCE families during this holiday.
